How one tree hill started

One Tree Hill
One Tree Hill is a teen television drama which premiered on September 23, 2003; it was created by Mark Schwahn who wanted to make this into a full featured film called “Ravens” but ended up making it an hour long teen drama which is in its 6th Season now. One Tree Hill has continued to be appreciated both by critics as well as viewers, it has also been said that it has a storyline which is similar to “Dawsons Creek” which starred Katie Holmes. The name of the show was inspired by U2’s song “One Tree Hill” which is named after a place in New Zealand. One Tree Hill is depicted as a sports drama revolving around Basketball and Guys, but as you watch the show you will realize, it is more about relationships and hence has attracted a huge fan following of girls.
The story of One Tree Hill is set in a fictional town of Tree Hill, North Carolina revolving around two half brothers who share the same last name but have different mothers. It is a story about Nathan Scott (a son whose father abandoned him) and Lucas Scott (a son who is currently staying with the father). Both the brothers are very different from each other, yet they share a history which comes to haunt them. Their father Dan Scott is a former high school basketball superstar who has a lot of say on who should be chosen for high school basketball team and also he wants his son Lucas to be a basketball star like he was in olden days, to his dismay the coach Whitney Durham chooses Nathan Scott to play in the team too. Both the brothers join the basketball team, there is a constant friction between them on the court as well as off the court. If that was not enough, both of them fall in love with the same girl ‘Peyton Sawyer’ who is a cheerleader who is also torn in between the battle between brothers. ‘One Tree Hill’ is a journey about brothers who are made to hate each other because of the circumstances and how as the show goes along, they know each other better and become real brothers.

The Important characters of the show are:

One Tree Hill how it started

24 10 2008

One Tree Hill” is a melodrama delving into lives of teens. The show forays the interaction of a motley group of people who are intertwined in their daily lives. To trace back to the show’s history a little, Dan Scott had blessed two boys with his parenthood at a very tender age; they were named Nathan and Lucas. Both the children were produced from different mothers. The series centers on the oddly networked family and also indulges generous proportion of Keith, who is a brother to Dan. It also maneuvers its way through myriad love interests for the brothers. Major liaisons are with Brooke Davis, Haley James, and Peyton Sawyer.

The first season amply concentrated on the development of the two half-brothers and the mental imbroglios which marked their relation to each other. Each took plenty of time coming to terms with other’s existence. The audience fathomed soon that there was no love lost between them and began to anticipate delightful conflicts. Lots of unpredictable turns in the plot enabled the character-formation of few multi-faced characters. Few of the characters who joined the show were outright detestable. Others had a charming affability around them. Overall the audience felt overjoyed by the plethora of shades portrayed by different leads.

A viewer who started with the show right in the first season was left largely bewildered. He hardly had a clue, what to expect from the show. The unpredictability left him awestruck and most of the times he ran for cover because of the high emotional quotient unfurling in front of him. It was high on melodrama. Fortunately, the histrionic worked as a balm to the audience. This is probably why the show got declared as a success quite early in its life. Not a single moment was less luring than the other. Overall, a gripping pace was maintained throughout the show which made it a no-holds-barred entertainer.

A good television drama is one which can let the audience join the protagonists in their agonies and ecstasies. Secondly, it must have the audience begging for more. “One Tree Hill” fitted both the bills with élan.

The second season simply took up from where the first season left. The plot thickened and characters with darker, diabolical shades were introduced. The characters kept racing towards danger which was itself hurling towards them at double pace. Teasing drama was built time and again and audience succumbed to the seduction of the show with ease. Few of us who take our rationale into viewing the show felt craggy at the end of the show, but the fun element was overpowering and it was well advised to put the brain behind the tapestry and let the senses enjoy the fun.

Season two commenced with a modification in Dan’s personality after suffering a heart stroke. He changed into a better person after brushing past death. He seamlessly transformed into a kind, caring man from a multi-faced villain. Paul Johansson who portrays his role must be patted on the back for amazing display of artistry. In fact Dan’s role is the burning motif of the series.

Of course there were other stories as well, which were clinically pasted into the fiber of the show. For instance, Nathan and Haley’s relation was a great watch. The liaison began at the end of the first season. With time, it created quite many problems. Haley found an ever-increasing penchant for music and wished to bind to it professionally. Nathan’s emotion was sacrificed on the altar of her career-orientation. In the meantime, Lucas tried to fix dilemmas he had been a part of in season one.

One can keep talking of the show and end up with a lot left to narrate. The best way to feel the unpredictable aura and gripping melodrama of the show is to watch it.
